an interesting discovery.....

... in the local tuna aisle....


STARKIST tuna boasts quite a few
different tuna 'products'.... and i thought
that i would finally take the time to read
the labels and see what the difference
really is.

while many differences are obvious....
canned in water, olive oil, vegetable oil, etc....

some are seemingly less apparent...

i examined 3 products...

1) starkist 'gourmet choice tuna fillet'
2) starkist 'select'
3) starkist 'chunk light tuna'


now keep in mind that the website offers
a handy 'descriptive analysis' of the
product... so while you have this analysis,
try to remember that in the grocery store,
you do not have this in front of your face.

try to see it as i saw it... a blind, average
consumer.....


so there i am, comparing the cans.... and
you know what?

THERE ISN'T A DAMNED DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ANY
OF THEM OTHER THAN THE 'NAME' OF THE PRODUCT!!!!!!!!


wtf????

so i can purchase the 'gourmet' variety and
get the same shit in the can as if i bought
the 'select' variety. i personally saw no
difference on the shelves other than
packaging.

tsk tsk.... bad starkist!

the consumer NEEDS to know!

i could post more on this subject... but
i really don't feel like it right now.


p.s.... i purchased the gourmet and the
select to try a 'taste test' at home...
